Are vinyl liner pools pet-friendly?Yes! There are different thicknesses of vinyl liners designed for durability, which offers peace of mind for dog owners. Before introducing pets to the pool, however, it's essential that they know how to swim and where the pool entrances/exits are. We have multiple clients whose dogs swim in their pools throughout the season, however, if you don't want to simply take our word for it, take a look at the durability of our liners here in the following video:

Do you install fiberglass pools? No! After over 40 years of pool construction experience, we found that fiberglass pools are NOT ideal due to our area's environment and soil conditions. The pools we stand behind and install are Stainless Steel/Vinyl Liner pools, which do not crack, pop from the ground, or float away like a fiberglass pool. Now, although we don't install fiberglass pools, we do still offer maintenance packages and opening and closing services to existing fiberglass pools.
-
How much does a new pool cost?Pool Designs doesn't offer set package prices because we've discovered that each backyard and homeowner has unique needs. Contact us for a consultation to discuss layout, pricing, timing, and more.

Is the additional cost of a saltwater pool system worth it?Saltwater pool systems are very appealing and have their advantages, however, they also have many disadvantages which we believe outweigh the overall advantages. Saltwater pool systems have high upfront costs at installation and for optimal performance, certain components need to be replaced every 3-4 pool seasons which can also be very costly. Beyond ongoing maintenance expenses, saltwater pools are very aggressive on the pool’s metal components overtime.
-
Now that my pool is built, who do you recommend to take care of it?Pool Designs offers many maintenance services from in-store water analysis and chemical sales to full-service packages that handle and maintain everything, including opening and closing your pool. Having us maintain your pool makes pool ownership easy!

How can I reduce the amount of chlorine I’m using? Many different factors can affect chlorine usage, including the amount of use, the temperature of the pool, the weather, and other environmental factors. To reduce the amount of chlorine needed to sanitize your pool or spa, there are many options including a U.V. Light and mineral sanitizers.
-
Can I make my existing pool a smart pool?Yes! One of the many ways to bring an existing pool up-to-date is by adding an automation system. An automation system lets you to control your pool equipment remotely through an app on your smartphone. This will allow you to set timers and schedules for the pump and lighting, as well as power on/off the pool, pool heater, and other water features.
-
Would it be difficult to upgrade to LED lighting in my pool? Not at all! If your pool already has lights, switching to LED is as easy as swapping out the old bulbs or, more likely, the underwater fixture. If you don’t have built-in lighting, there are still plenty of options, like floating LEDs or strip lighting, that don’t require major work. Plus, many LED systems come with remote or app controls, so you can change colors and brightness with a tap. It’s a simple upgrade that makes a big difference!
